Projects Of A Busy Woman!

So it's been awhile since I have blogged!  My laptop has been down for a bit. I'm now working off a tablet. Not sure how I'm going to like this. Time will only tell.

As always I have been super busy with work and family.
Here are a few projects that I have done. The good old plastic mirror.  I hand painted it with flat paint then sanded it with a fine paper. I used a new product that I will be writing about.

This half round table was given to me for free! Love it! I started peeling the contact paper off and under it was veneer inlay! So now the top will be stained not painted as planned.
I was given this old sewing cabinet. I gave it the shabby chic look and now use it for my fish tank!
This is a kitchen I worked on at my day job. I love how it came out.
This is a desk that I had to fix the top on at work. Came out pretty good if I do say so myself!
I hope I still have some followers out there. :)

BUSY

I know I keep saying this over and over but, I have been super busy. With my day job and side jobs (that my husbands says I have been doing to many of) I have had no time to just sit.

I started doing a kitchen on the side. They are great people to work for. I have been doing a few cabinets at a time. I get 3 done and pick up 3 more. I has worked out perfect.

 They added some new cabinets.

This is a kitchen I'm doing at my day job. We started Friday.
We sanded all the cases there and bring the doors and draws back to the shop to stripped and sanded. We also spray them out at the shop too. We will brush the paint on at the house on the cases.
This kitchen had many different colors over the years. If someone was looking for the primitive look this would have been the kitchen to do with it.
This kitchen we started today. We took all the doors and draws back to the shop. We will sand the case at some point this week.
I love the old cabinets!! I can't wait to see them with there new coat of finish.
Now to the big project of the week!!!

Painting at the new shelter for our veterans doing what we can to give it back!

We worked on 5 rooms today, and many more to come!!

So much work has gone into this project by so many different people. When people come

 together so much can happen!!

This isn't the best picture but this is my Boss Cathy and I at the site.

I can't wait to share more as the project moves along!!

Almost Ready For Spring!!!

Monday at work I kept saying what a great day it was. I was texting my husband telling him about my great day. He too was having a great day. I happened to be working at a customers house and time was just flying by. Then it was time to go. I had my phone and two empty cans of seltzer waters in my hands. Out the door I went wishing everyone a good night, closed the door started down the steps next thing I know cans and phone are flying through the air as I too am flying and hitting the icy wet stairs with my butt, back, and back of my legs. Some how I popped right back up but in a lot of pain. I climbed back up the stair and opened the door and yelled in the stairs have ice on them be careful I just fell and slammed the door behind me because I was so pissed and hurt. I got in my car and drove to pick my husband up from his work. He had to drive home because I was in so much pain. This is what it looked like Monday. It's bigger and deeper in color now.

Now two days later I'm feeling much better. I haven't been back to work yet. I will be going tomorrow!!  I think they really miss me. We have so much going on and I really can't take any more time off. We have been doing so many kitchens it's not funny. I'm loving the work!! and a pay check!!

Oh I also wanted to share that is was my niece Emily's Birthday Party this past weekend. They had so much fun. Pool party..
How cute are these cupcakes!! It was funny, I had already seen the cupcakes before any of the kids did. So when I was taking their picture in the pool I said... "say cheese" then "say Cookie Monster Cupcakes" One of the kids said "that was random!
Emily was very happy with all of her goodies!
After we all went back to Emily's house to enjoy the outdoors. Josh (my son) was giving rides on the sled.
 Nate just being so cute.

There was an eagle flying over us for a while hoping for some fish while we were fishing.
 Boys and their toys.
Here is a painting that Emily did!! I think I'm going to have to buy this one off her!! I'm in love with it.

Bitter Sweet Day

My friend Jess found out today that the woman who drove drunk and killed her husband Bobby the father of her two beautiful boys will only get 11.5 years in prison for the DUI manslaughter, DUI serious injury, DUI property damage, leaving the scene of a crash with death and leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury.

I don't understand how someone who took a life only gets 11.5 years. This is a woman who drank then drove drunk. That's kind of like loading a gun and killing someone. I don't understand how this woman walked away not checking on the people she hurt and killed. Just walked away!!! Only 11.5 years in prison.

Here is the story if you want to read.

Here is the boys video they played in court. Jess told the boys to tell the judge what they would like to happen to the person that caused their fathers death. They were by NO MEANS manipulated into making this or told what to say like the defense attorney told the court. The video was Christian's idea.

Only 11.5 years in prison. It breaks my heart the boys will grow up without their father that loved them with everything he had. A wife no longer with her soul mate! A wonderful mother and father without their loving and caring son. A brother and sister no longer making memories together. All the friends that Bobby loved near and dear to him will never hang out together again.

This will be the second person in my life that was killed by a drunk driver.

If you go out and have any alcohol at all.......HAND OVER YOUR KEYS. DON'T DRIVE!!!!! IT'S NOT WORTH THE LOSS OF A LIFE!!!

Crazy Busy

I finally did it. I finally did my own customers kitchen!!  Well I'm in the middle of it now. They are changing their kitchen up big time. I'm so blessed to be a part of it. I found the job on-line. The owner was looking for someone and I jump right on it. It was so unlike me. I really needed to take this job because I need to pay of my vet bill from Sadie surgery.

I took all the doors and draws first. I sanded them all down at home then took them to my work the next day to spray out.

I sanded all the paint flush and fill all holes.
Here they are all sanded and ready to paint.

Just before the kitchen I did this dresser for a good friend of mine. I really like the way it came out. I'm now going to do my kitchen island in the blue! I can't wait to get to that project.....when that will be who knows.

I got a custom order for a ring. So I worked on that one night.

Two weekends ago I had ideas running through my head I had to get out. Here are two of them. So far I have good feed back from them.

Last week I had more ideas running through my head and felt like painting. You will have to let me know what you think of them.

Organized

This is the cabinet I found on-line for $30.00!! What a great deal for exactly what I needed it for... all my jewelry making supplies!

Now that all my supplies is behind closed doors no more dust from sanded or cutting wood. I really couldn't believe how fast I filled it up! Not bad for only having it home for a few hours!!! I had to cut  strips of wood and added cup hooks for my ribbon necklaces and rings for the sun catchers. I had already had the yellow peg board, just never found the right spot of it. Will now I did because it fit perfect on the door. It holds all my wire tools and wire! I still have a little organizing to do, and a empty door  :)
Now just need to clean the rest of the basement!!

Out & About Today

My husband and I went out to Bridgton Maine to pick up a cabinet that a couple were selling on-line.  I couldn't pass it up for $30.00!! We now have it home. I was thinking of refinishing it for the kitchen but once we got it home I like my other cabinet better. So I'm now going to refinish it for my work space to hold all my beading and jewelry making tools, make it all dust free.

While we were in the area we stopped into the Bridgton Maine Flea Market. There were so many unique pieces there.

I love the signal light!! Would love to have that in John Man Cave. With all the cars he collects would be great for the space.
There were also very unique pieces from:

We were able to meet Joe & Heather while we were there. They were very sweet and John had a field day with talking with them.

I love this camera lamp!!

Eggs and Bacon anyone!!

I'm so glad we stopped by to see what they had to offer!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!!
