The Skystreakers Club is a model airplane club. The nonprofit organization has been an active flying club in the community for nearly 30 years. SkyStreakers is a base for all model aviation enthusiasts; men, women and children of all ages. Formal training sessions are held every Wednesday evening all summer long for those that want to learn to fly radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. Training is also open to the public to anyone that wants to try their hand at R/C a couple of times before making the investment in their own aircraft.
John, Josh and I went to see what it was all about.
When we pulled up to the gate this is what it looks like. You have to open the gate to drive through then close the gate behind you.
I thought this sign was funny.
It was a little drive through the woods but a nice one and then you come up to a open field where they fly the planes. When we drove up there was a man flying a helicopter.
The people there were very nice. They talked to us about what they do and about the training they do.
Here is one of the planes flying.
On the way out we stop on the side of the road because there was an old car in the woods and Josh wanted to check it out.
This is an old Studebaker Commander.
We had a great 4th of July.
